Václav Jirásek
Born November 3, 1965 in Karviná. Studied painting at Academy of Fine Arts under Prof. Jirí Naceradsky (1985-1990).

A founding member of the artists' group Bratrstvo (Brotherhood) (1989-1994) whitch worked in the field of Gesamtkunstwerk, within the frame work of this group. He exhibited his photography anonymously.

Free-lance photographer, living in Praque.

In Jirasek's photos, the fragile beauty of human existence emerges both from light and from darkness, in both the presence. A desire for purity, described by the sophisticated aesthetic line of his work, is pulled down to the bottom of its illusion.
